While #Spring officially started several months back, there's just something about May that says sunny skies, aromatic gardens, and picnics in the park. The days are getting longer and I'm celebrating Spring with these five to-dos.
Buy Fresh Flowers
I love flowers. They are such an effective pick-me-up after you've had a tough day. And they smell good, And they're pretty. And they're fun. And there literally isn't a reason to not have fresh flowers in your home.
Rearrange Your Space
Spring is a new beginning! Chanel the essence of change by mixing things up in your decor. Another benefit of moving around your couch is that you can clean under everything before you put it all back. I love the Ever Spring Lemon & Coriander Multipurpose cleanser. It smells like sweet lemony heaven.
Make Strawberry Lemonade
Nothing says warm weather like this bright concoction. Trust me, this one's a crowd-pleaser!
3/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 6 lemons depending on size)
16 oz strawberries (fresh or frozen)
1 cup white sugar
4 cups or (1 liter) water
Hull and chop strawberries. Cook the strawberries in a small saucepan over medium heat until they are syrupy. Once cooled, strain syrup through a fine-mesh sieve. Combine strained strawberry syrup, lemon juice, sugar and water in a large pitcher, Enjoy!
Spice things up with a liter of seltzer water and you've got the perfect recipe for a relaxing evening on the porch.
Use the remaining strawberry pulp as jam on your peanut butter toast or filling for strawberry hand pies!
Clean Your Windows
We're all opening the drapes in an effort to bring a little more sunshine indoors. While sunlight is definitely good for our bodies, your grimy windows might be preventing maximum absorption. In all honesty, I rarely clean my windows. Each time I do, I'm surprised at how dirty they actually were.
Switch Out Your Wardrobe
Break out the floral patterns! Bring on the pastels! Spring fashion means flowing kimonos, off the shoulder tops, and sandals. Say goodbye to the stuffy turtleneck sweaters and hello to the tank tops. Sunburn, here I come! (No matter how much sunscreen I use, high altitude living has me far too close to the sun.)
What do you do to bring Spring inside? Let me know in the comments below.
Lots of Love,
