Superfood Protein Bites

These healthy treats are so scrumptious that they have become a staple around here. Whip up a batch of these in about 10 minutes and pop them in the fridge until you’re ready to eat.


  • 2 cups oats

  • 1 tbls cocoa powder

  • ¼ cup ground flax seeds

  • 2 tbls chia seeds

  • 1 heaping cup chocolate chips + some for drizzle

  • 2 cups creamy peanut butter


  1. Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl. Ensure everything is properly mixed.

  2.  Add the peanut butter, one cup at a time. You may not need the entire 2 cups. The most important aspect to this is texture. You want the mix to be wet enough to hold together, but still relatively dry. Try forming a key lime sized ball. Does is stick together without crumbing too much? You have the perfect texture!

  3. Continue rolling small balls until you’ve used your entire mixture. Place on a clean baking sheet.

  4. Refrigerate for about an hour, or until the treats are no longer crumbly or sticky.

  5. Melt the extra chocolate and drizzle over treats. 


I love to eat a couple of these with my morning coffee. The bitter coffee and sweet treats are like a match made in heaven… or my mouth.

A few things:

-Mini chocolate chips work best for this recipe. You can also roughly chop a bar of chocolate.

-This is a base recipe. Feel free to add things or take them away. You can use honey and cut back the peanut butter. (Unless you prefer the vegan version.) You can try white chocolate or caramel bites. Experiment with chunky peanut butter instead of creamy. Get creative!
